Variegated Philodendron hederaceum ‘High Color’

growers choice - plants are shipped in a white 4” nursery pot.  Only plants with high color “strong variegation” are sent.

A highly variegated form of Philodendron hederaceum, prized for its dramatic foliage and constantly changing patterns. Unlike standard green forms, ‘High Color’ produces leaves heavily infused with cream, mint, lime, and soft yellow variegation that can range from delicate marbling to bold sectoral patterns. The increased amount of variegation often creates brighter, more striking foliage while maintaining the species’ easy-growing, vining nature. As the plant matures and climbs, leaves can become larger and develop even more dramatic coloration.

• Heart-shaped foliage with highly variable cream and green variegation
• Displays marbling, streaking, splashing, and occasional sectoral patterns
• High-color leaves may emerge with reduced green tissue and brighter overall appearance
• New growth can shift in tone as leaves harden, sometimes beginning lighter before deepening slightly
• Fast-growing vining habit suitable for climbing poles, hanging baskets, or trailing displays
• Each leaf develops unique patterns, making no two plants identical

Care Tips

Light: Bright indirect light encourages stronger variegation and compact growth. Avoid harsh direct sun, which may scorch heavily variegated foliage.

Water: Allow the top layer of media to dry slightly between watering. Avoid prolonged saturation.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (60%+) for ideal leaf expansion and growth.

Temperature: Thrives around 65–85°F.

Growing Media: Use a chunky, airy aroid mix with strong oxygen exchange and drainage.

Note: Highly variegated leaves contain less chlorophyll and may grow more slowly than greener growth. Retaining some green tissue supports long-term vigor and stability.
